Founded in 1900, Ajax quickly rose to become one of the most successful teams in all of Holland, achieving an unbeaten season in their 1918-19 campaign. The club has largely controlled the landscape of football in the Netherlands ever since. Ajax claimed three consecutive European Cups in the 1970s, asserting themselves as continental conquerors during that time thanks to the visionary – Johan Cruyff. Today, their total football produces and relies on some of the greatest youth players of this generation and yet they still find a way to knock off Europe’s elite.
