A constant threat in Liga MX, the Green Bellies have been a championship contender from the very beginning. The club became the first Mexican “Campeonísimo,” the winner of the League and the México Cup in the same year, in 1949, just five years after its founding. Despite being competitive in international play, Leon is most known in Mexico for its past and recent success domestically. Supporters of the club are hoping to see another star added to the crest.
